UMN College Readiness Resources

College and career readiness involves preparing all K-12 students to understand the importance of postsecondary education for their future, explore career fields and related preparation requirements, know the range of of postsecondary options, and develop needed financial, social, and emotional skills. This process engages students more fully in middle and high school as they see the connection to their future, and increases the likelihood of earning a postsecondary degree or certificate.

UMN College in the Schools Program

High school teachers offer college level courses to their students, who earn academic credit. CIS helps students gain confidence, demonstrate their ability to succeed in college, and explore options for their future.

Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO)

High school students enroll in classes on all UMN campuses without paying tuition under this state program. PSEO helps students gain confidence, demonstrate their ability to succeed in college, and explore option for their future.

Admissions

UMN Admissions' offices partner with local and statewide youth organizations, as well as school counselors, to keep them informed about UMN admissions expectations and help them develop youth.
