The College Readiness Consortium invites your 8th grade middle school students to visit the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus!
In these 2.5-hour campus visits, students will engage with an interactive overview of postsecondary education and visit key locations on the Minneapolis campus. Visits are designed for groups of up to 30 students. If your students are older than 8th grade, please refer to the admissions page for campus group visits, which are most appropriate for grades 9 - 12.
Your campus visit will be hands-on and activity-based, beginning with a welcome to the University of Minnesota, diving into an overview of the elements of postsecondary readiness and the benefits of college, and concluding with a walking tour of campus. There may be an opportunity to sample a college class or meet a panel of college students, depending on scheduling availability.
What to know about before your visit:
- Middle school visits are set for groups of no more than 30 students and there must be at least 1 chaperone per 15 students.
- Chaperones must accompany students at all times. There may be times when groups are divided. At least one chaperone must be in each group.
- Groups are responsible for transportation to and from campus, including parking (if needed).
- Groups are responsible for their own food on campus.
