The College Readiness Consortium is excited to welcome your middle school students (grades 6-8) to visit the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus! These 2-hour campus visits will introduce your students to postsecondary education and visit key locations on the Minneapolis campus. They are designed for groups of up to 30 students who are on campus as part of a school field trip or community organization event. If your students are older than 8th grade, please refer to the admissions page for campus group visits.
Your campus visit will be hands-on and activity-based, beginning with an introduction to the University of Minnesota, then diving into an activity on college and what to look for during college visits. There may be an opportunity to sample a college class or meet a panel of college students, depending on scheduling availability.
What to know about before your visit:
- Middle school visits are set for groups of no more than 30 students and there must be at least 1 chaperone per 15 students.
- Chaperones must accompany students at all times. There may be times when groups are divided. At least one chaperone must be in each group.
- Group visits are reserved for students who will be on campus as part of a school field trip or community organization event.
- Groups are responsible for transportation to and from campus, including parking (if needed).
- Groups are responsible for food on campus.
